What a request contains

A normalised specification

The component, the format and geometry, the quantity, the delivery condition, the functional acceptance criterion, and the quality documents required with the shipment. Restated into your terms and your units before it reaches you.

A named buyer with a stated requirement

Every request carries a buyer who has stated the requirement and the timeframe. Exploratory requests are marked as such in the request.

The same scope issued to every laboratory approached

Every laboratory approached receives the same scope, quantity and QC list.

Buyer identity on release only

By default you receive the technical content without the buyer’s name, institution or application. Where identity would improve the quote, we ask the buyer to release it.

A decision on every quote

You are told the outcome of every quote, including when the buyer does not proceed.

A single point of contact

One person holds the request end to end.

Practices excluded

  • Speculative requests. Requests are not circulated without a buyer behind them.
  • Reverse auctions. Your price is not shown to a competitor.
  • Silent scope changes. A changed requirement is re-issued as a new request.
  • Price harvesting. Quotes are not collected to build a public pricing dataset. Published prices on the catalogue come from your own public pages, with source and capture date.
  • Unpaid pilots. No free first article is required to quote.
  • Listing fees. No payment is taken to appear on the site or to be recommended.

Supplier expectations

Supplier expectations
ExpectationWhat it means in practice
A real quoteA number you will honour, with a stated validity period, itemised so that non-recurring engineering, materials, labour, QC and freight are shown separately.
A lead time with its start eventCounted from a named start event, with the gating constraint stated: production cadence, cell expansion, incubation minimum, courier window, or permit.
A prompt declineDeclines within a few days. Declines are reported to the buyer as part of the result and do not affect future requests.
QC documentation named at quotationWhich certificates travel with the goods, by which method, against which acceptance criterion, and whether values are typical, guaranteed or lot-specific. Documents not on the quote do not ship.
Accurate capability claimsIf you sell the casting device rather than the formed tissue, state that. The distinction is classified on every catalogue entry.
A named technical contactSomeone who can answer a specification question without routing it through a sales team.
Notice of schedule slipOn the day the slip is known.
Research use onlyResearch use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Clinical, diagnostic and human-use work is not routed through this site.

Payment

Who issues the orderWetware World, where the engagement carries our margin. The buyer directly, where the engagement is a flat brokerage fee. You are told which before you quote.
Payment termsYour standard terms unless agreed otherwise in writing on the purchase order.
Deposits and non-recurring engineeringWhere tooling, mould design or protocol development is required, the deposit and milestone structure is agreed in the quotation and passed through to the buyer as a visible line rather than absorbed.
How our margin is handledAdded by Wetware World, disclosed to the buyer as its own line, and not deducted from your price.
Fees not takenNo listing fee, placement fee, ranking fee, or commission contingent on which supplier the buyer selects.
Currency and freightQuote in your own currency and state your freight basis. Normalisation onto a common basis is done by Wetware World.

Where the engagement carries a margin, that margin is disclosed to the buyer as its own line beside your price. Where that disclosure is unacceptable, the flat-fee structure is the alternative.

Listing

Six steps. Currently 66 entries across 9 categories, of which 42 are verified against a live primary source.

  1. 01

    Application or survey

Most entries in the survey came from reading suppliers’ own published material. Neither route carries a fee.

  2. 02

    Primary material is read

Product pages, technical specifications, published validation, and material you send. Capability is recorded as a quotation from your own wording.

  3. 03

    Classification

Finished good or kit. Public price or by quotation. Fixed format or custom geometry.

  4. 04

    Confidence label assigned and published

Verified, partially verified, or not yet verified, against a written definition, shown on the entry with the capture date. The label describes the evidence held.

  5. 05

    Matching requests are sent

A request reaches you when the specification matches your published capability.

  6. 06

    Correction or removal on request

Entries are corrected against your own published material, or removed. Corrections are recorded.

Listing is not endorsement and is not sold. The full method, including the limits of verification, is published at sourcing methodology.

Supplier application

Everything except contact details and capability is optional.

01 Organisation
Capability is read from your own published material first.
Someone who can answer a specification question directly.
02 Capability
Categories you can supply
State the gating constraint, not just the number.
03 Quality and documentation
Documentation you can issue with a shipment
Where you hold none, write none. Accreditation is published against the supplier. An absent accreditation is not a disqualification for research-use work.
